the noun "hangover" or the adjective "hungover" is used to describe the post-inebriated state consisting of
headache, nausea, fatigue, hypersensitivity to sound, etc. (not that I've ever experienced it, but my friends tell me...
).
For example, one might be "hungover" from a bad encounter with a friend or colleague, or get a "hangover". I might use the word "hangover" to describe how I feel after the flight between LA and Rome. AE is VERY flexible.
