Yeah, the script reads the source file and write the target file. So its ok to have the source file as URL or path, no difference. But the target file must be a writeable path, not an HTTP connection.

After making the changes it says this :

On lines 63 and 78, i replaced $file with $filename.

It worked and created a .001 file upto 56MB.... then it reported the following error :

I've changed the file twice, i guess you downloaded the first version. Sorry, download it again and it will work

And you may need to delete the 001 file and start over.

I run the file just now. . . . it has started working and creating files but its not doing it in proportion. I mean i had told it to prepare 100MB parts but its creating files with random file sizes :

and also when i run the filesplit.php script it shows loading bar in Internet explorer and eventually it shows that page that says IE cannot display this page.

The sizing structure in the script, seemed fine to me. However iyinet may be able to check it when he's online again. The other thing is probably related with your connection or timeout of your site.

The file split procedure seems to stop at all files at 56MB exact when in the file its mentioned to be 100MB. That's really strange.... It really breaks the heart when something comes to a sorrow end even after so much of progress. !

I just tried changing the the split size in the file to 150 MB and it yielded 15 files ::

which totals to be 665.2 MB which isnt possible because the split archives total size cant exceed the original size viz. 403MB

Original code did not support remote files.
I have attached updated version, this version supports remote files.
Please let us know if you have any issues.

I tried it, its not working.

When I copy/paste your link I get "403 Forbidden" error.

i change permission to 644 from 640 whenever i try to execute the file. I can enable it if you want to see it. Its a file 403 MB each.

actually there are 10 total parts :
1-9 Part : 403 MB each
10th Part : 378MB

because of high bandwidth usage i had to hide the links from public

i want to break all of the parts in 100mb files, creating sub-parts from the already on-server files mentioned above. Your original script, was modified by a member "angelo" and it was hence starting to split the files. . . . just wanted to inform if u missed it.

Well what I meant in my last message is, I get 403 error = "You are not allowed to access this page."
